GPS Fleet Tracking Helping Amaya Roofing & Waterproofing Become Quick-Response Superheroes
”ClearPathGPS had such amazing reviews about the technology, the features… and most important to my team, the company’s excellent customer service.Jason GibsonPresident of AMAYA Roofing & Waterproofing
AMAYA Roofing & Waterproofing is a trusted, sought-after commercial and residential roofing contractor serving Las Vegas and the surrounding areas. Several of the country’s largest and most well-known real estate developers and property managers call on AMAYA’s expert team when they need outstanding work done quickly. And if you’ve ever visited the Circus Circus hotel in Reno, you can thank AMAYA for keeping a roof over your head.
As an in-demand roofing company that has built a brand around fast-response service 24/7, AMAYA faced the challenge of trying to quickly locate the nearest available field tech for emergency jobs.
In the company’s early days, when they had only a few trucks, President Jason Gibson was able to keep track of their whereabouts in the field himself. But when AMAYA’s growing reputation led to increased customer demand—and the company expanded to 15 vehicles—Jason’s team needed a more effective dispatching solution.
”Our passion is delivering outstanding service, and in the roofing business speed is a big part of that. We needed a GPS service that would let our dispatcher quickly find the right truck for the right job site.Jason GibsonPresident of AMAYA Roofing & Waterproofing
Jason and his team had no previous experience with GPS vehicle tracking, so they researched the industry. As a customer-service-oriented team themselves, they visited sites such as TrustPilot and read the reviews of GPS solutions from other fleet-based service businesses like AMAYA. That made their decision easy.
With ClearPathGPS trackers installed on the company’s vehicles and real-time information on all of them easily accessible online, AMAYA finally found a dispatch solution that made quickly locating vehicles in the field easy—no matter how many trucks the company added to their fleet.
AMAYA’s dispatching superstar, Amy, now uses the ClearPathGPS system throughout her workday. Her large monitor displays a ClearPathGPS-generated map of the company’s service area at all times, with dots indicating the current locations of all AMAYA vehicles.
Amy can also view important real-time details about any of those dots—such as when a truck arrived at its current job site and how long it’s been there. All of this information can help her determine which field tech to send when a customer calls in with an urgent roofing request.

“It helped us lower our insurance rates.”
Being able to show their insurance carrier that the company was now monitoring all trucks with GPS, AMAYA earned a reduction on their auto premiums. “Getting a break on our rates was a really nice surprise,” Jason says. How much could you save on your insurance rates? A recent industry study covered in Forbes estimates adding GPS tracking can save a fleet between 5% and 25% on its insurance rates.
“It made timecard reviewing easier than ever.”
AMAYA’s staff used to manually review each field tech’s timecard and check them against the company’s job logs. Then they discovered ClearPathGPS’s virtual timecard feature. “It’s so fast and easy,” says Jason. “And we know it’s accurate, because the GPS system is tracking every minute our techs are on job sites and traveling to and from them.”
“It relieves a lot of stress from our drivers.”
AMAYA’s company policy has always been to let its field techs take their company trucks home with them each night. But that created a couple of challenges. “If a tech couldn’t secure the truck behind a locked gate or in a garage, they’d worry about it being stolen for the equipment inside,” explains Jason. “Also, they’d have to worry about us wondering if they were taking the truck out when they weren’t supposed to. We hire outstanding techs, and we trust them, but these are things even the best employees worry about.”
When AMAYA added GPS vehicle trackers, it took a lot of pressure off of company’s employees. “I was glad to see that our drivers felt a lot more comfortable taking the trucks home with them,” explains Jason. “We always wanted that to feel like a perk—not a burden. And now it does.”
“It gives us data we’ve never had… which gives us peace of mind.”
Yet another hidden gem Jason discovered in AMAYA’s ClearPathGPS service was the detailed data reports. “Every morning I get three reports delivered to my inbox,” he says, “A speeding report lets me know if any of our field techs got a little too enthusiastic on the road the day before. The geozone report lets me know exactly when our trucks went into and out of the virtual boundaries that we’ve drawn on our GPS tracking maps, such as around a job site. And the engine report lets me know when our trucks are put to bed for the night.”
As Jason explains, having all of this real-time information on his company’s assets is invaluable. “We’ve got 15 trucks, all purchased new, at about $50,000 apiece. I can’t tell you the peace of mind it gives me to know where those investments are all times, and how they’re being used.”
“One thing that really sets AMAYA apart is that we’re truly a 24/7 service. If you call us in the middle of the night, we’ll be there to help you. ClearPathGPS is definitely helping us keep this promise to customers”
